On May 14 th to 19 th 2017, Universitas Indonesia (UI) took institutional assessment by
ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA).
This was something special, since UI became the first university that got a chance to go
through assessment proses on institutional level.
“One of the requirement is the number of study program that has been assessed by AUN-
QA, and UI has 20 study programs that has been assessed already and 1 has reassessed
by AUN-QA,”, said Deputy of of Academic Field of Academic Quality Assurance Agency
(BPMA) UI, Yuni Krisnandi.
Different with assessment process that has been done on study program level, on
institutional level, the assessment was done to all elements of UI, from university leader
level until students level, including stakeholders as well.
AUN-QA assessment consisted of SAR-Self Assessment Report that has been done
before site visit week.
In site visit assessment, the most part was interview process with 4 UI organ leader
(Rector, Vice Rector, Academic Senate, Board of Trustee, and Board of Professors), all
unit in university administrative center, faculty representatives, lecturers, students,
employer and alumni.
“Assessment was done to assess 4 pillars, that are strategic, systemic, functional and
result. Even more spesific, on planning, implementation, evaluation and follow-up that has
been done by UI as a university,” added her.
AUN-QA assessor team consisted of 6 people and 5 people AUN-QA senior assessor as
observer, who were came from 4 ASEAN countries, that were Singapore, Philippines,
Malaysia and Thailand.
By this AUN-QA assessment, hopefully UI will be placed as an educational institution that
is equal with leading universities in South-East Asia.
