Nusantara Consulting Team from Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas
Indonesia (FEB UI) successfully got the first place in Chartered Accountants in England
and Wales (ICAEW) Southeast Asia Business Challenge 2017.
Nusantara UI team consisted of students from accounting science major of FEB UI, who
were consisted of Ivan Sabastian, Karunia Muliani, Faris Nahar, Ivan sanders, Gina
Rusdina, and Jordan Simatupang.
They successfully defeated the other 10 teams from reputable universities in Southeast
Asia, such as Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.
According to Simatupang, leader of Nusantara team, their key of success was carefully
understanding questions that was given.
“From 3 questions that were asked, there was only 1 question that was explicit, rest of
them were implicit questions. The other team seemed were not aware of it,” said him.
Besides, support from their major was also one of their key of success. Before they
departed, Nusantara team got various training from their lecturer.
As the reward of their victory, all team member got vacation trip package to London
sponsored by ICAEW.
ICAEW is a reputable accounting consultant in the world that is based in London with its
branch office on all over the world, including Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Vietnam and
Indonesia.
ICAEW Business Challenge 2017 is an annual competition that was held by ICAEW with
purpose to generate innovative and creative young generations.
In ICAEW Business Challenge, each team will be given challenging case studies in order
to triggering their innovative and creative thinking in solving the business case.
Therefor, their analytical ability will also be triggered to be more susceptive and sharp in
solving the study case that is given.
In this Southeast Asia level competition, 11 finalist teams that were chosen had won
ICAEW Business Challenge on each country level that were held on March and April 2017.
