After last year when Universitas Indonesia (UI) listed itself in the ranks of world researchers as being included in the 2% of Scientists Worldwide 2022 according to Stanford University, this year nine UI researchers and lecturers are included in the same category. Top 2% Scientists Worldwide 2023 published by Stanford University and Elsevier BV. Stanford University released the latest version of the scientific author database regarding the most standardized citation indicators (Wednesday, 4/10). This database provides standard information about citation metrics, such as number of citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, and composite indicator (c-score).
The database groups scientists into 22 scientific fields and 174 scientific subfields based on the standard Science-Metrix classification. Selection is based on the top 100,000 scientists based on c-score (with and without self-citations) or percentile ranking of 2% or more in a particular sub-field. The nine UI lecturers and researchers who are included in the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide 2023 category come from the Faculty of Medicine (FK), Faculty of Engineering (FT), and Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA).
Lecturers and researchers from FK who achieved this achievement include Prof. dr. Jeanne Adiwinata, M.S., Ph.D., and dr. Indah Suci Widyahening, M.S., M.Sc., CM-FM., Ph.D. Meanwhile, the lecturers and researchers from FT consists of Prof. Mohammed Ali Berawi, M.Eng.Sc., Ph.D.; Prof. Dr-Ing. Nandy Setiadi Djaya Putra; and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Suryanegara, S.T., M.Sc. Meanwhile, four other lecturers and researchers from FMIPA, namely Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Rosari Saleh; Prof. Dr. Yoki Yulizar, M.Sc.; Munawar Khalil, S.Si., M.Eng.Sc., Ph.D.; and Dr. Dipo Aldila, S.Si., M.So.
In this achievement, Prof. Mohammed Ali Berawi achieved the highest ranking in the single-year impact category (citation data received during 2022) by ranking 59,220 out of 210,198 scientists. Apart from that, he is also in the career-long category (citation data updated until the end of 2022) by ranking 193,434 out of 204,643 scientists, together with Prof. Dr-Ing. Nandy Setiadi Djaya Putra is ranked 170,668 out of 204,643 scientists.
The list of the top 2% of scientists in the world was written by Prof. John PA Ioannidis, M.D., Ph.D. from Stanford University. This edition is the fifth edition of the article “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators” published by Elsevier.
