UI SIGNED MOU WITH ZAGREB UNIVERSITY FOR COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF ENGINEERING & SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

Universitas Indonesia (UI) and Zagreb University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish more intensive cooperation in the fields of engineering and scientific research on Thursday (19/10) in Meeting Room A, 2nd Floor, University Administration Center Building, UI Campus Depok.

The meeting was opened with remarks by the Vice Rector for Research and Innovation at UI, drg. Nurtami, Ph.D., Sp, OF(K) continued with an opening speech by the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Indonesia and ASEAN, H.E Nebojsa Koharovic who expressed his gratitude for UI’s hospitality and also his hopes for the signing of the MoU. “Zagreb University and UI can be said to be the two largest and most prestigious universities, thus we think this MOU will be a very successful path for major cooperation in the future,” said Nebojsa.

The MoU signed by the two universities contains a cooperation agreement that focuses on improving and maximizing the fields of engineering and scientific research. In general, this collaboration covers technical scientific research fields such as architecture, civil engineering, electrical engineering and transportation. UI and the Zagreb University do not rule out the potential for starting new programs, new activities, especially in innovation and technology transfer cooperation.

“There are lots of possibilities. There are lots of ideas, programs and activities that we can develop together in the future, and the most important thing is education,” said Vice Rector for Innovation, Technology Transfer and Cooperation with Economic Sector, Zagreb University, Prof. Tomislav Josip Mlinaric.

Head of the European Regional Studies Study Program, School of Strategic and Global Studies (SKSG) UI, Dr. Polit. Sc. Henny Saptaria responded that SKSG UI welcomed this collaboration even though it did not focus on technical matters and they conducted research in the fields of social sciences, political sciences and humanities. However, UI recently collaborated with a university in Europe for technical water processing which is aimed at becoming a sustainable energy resource, and this is an example that UI is also developing research in the same direction as Zagreb University, namely focusing on developing things. engineering and scientific research.

With the meeting and signing of this MOU, both UI and Zagreb University hope that this collaboration in the future will strengthen cooperative relations between institutions in the future. The meeting and signing of the MoU itself was also attended by UI representatives including the Vice Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs, UI Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar. M.Sc.; Director of Innovation and Science Techno Park UI, Ahmad Gamal, S.Ars., M.Si., MUP., Ph.D; Director of Research and Development, Munawar Khalil, Ph.D; Head of International Office, drg. Baiduri Widanarko, M.KKK, Ph.D; Head of Collaborative Research Development Sub-directorate, Drg. Masita Mandasari. Ph.D.Sp.PM; Executive Assistant to the Director of the SKSG International Office, Jelang Ramadhan, M.Si. Ph.D (can). Representatives from Zagreb University include the Vice Rector for Science, Research and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dubravko Majetic; and Vice Dean for Science and Infrastructure, Faculty of Agriculture, Assoc. Prof. Kloudja Carovic Stanko, PhD.
