For this achievement, the Rector of UI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, expressed his appreciation to the UI academic community who had contributed. According to him, the Gold award won by UI, related to institutions, shows that UI at the national level has the best position, as has been achieved at the international level. In addition, UI lecturers and students also won awards for excelling in several categories. This proves UI’s seriousness in improving quality at the national and international levels.
“The 2024 Diktisaintek Award not only gives awards to UI, but also senior lecturers, young lecturers, and UI students. This means that UI has superior academic community quality and we must improve it. Hopefully, in the future, we can continue to be down-to-earth and global. At the national level, we continue to improve ourselves to be the best in Indonesia, and at the international level, we must be recognized. Let’s work together, hand in hand towards a superior UI, impactful for Indonesia and the world,” said Prof. Heri.
Dr. Arif, recipient of the 2024 Academic Leader award in the Maritime Affairs Lecturer Category, said that his goal in participating in this event was to provide a positive impact on study programs, faculties, and universities, as well as on the maritime world, especially related to shipping technology. “In general, the challenges are still big in implementing technology in the field. The hope for the future is that there will be a link and match between innovation and industrial needs in society because the maritime potential is very large, but has not been developed much,” he said.
The Diktiristek Award, which has been held since 2021, has changed its name to the Diktisaintek Award. In this event, the Ministry of Education and Science and Technology gave a total of 315 awards to universities, LLDikti, the business world and industry, ministries/institutions, as well as the media and journalists. Each award category given has gone through a series of selection processes, which include judging and data collection selection to measure the performance of institutions that contribute and have an impact on society.
