Universitas Indonesia (UI), through the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), together with Paragon Corp inaugurated the renovation of the Al-Iqtishad Musalla which now comes with a new design and modern facilities. The event held on Friday, February 21, also featured a series of tausiyahs to welcome Ramadhan 1446 Hijriah. The tausiyah themed “Work-Worship Balance” was delivered by K.H. Muhammad Yusron Shidqi, Lc., M.A., the caretaker of the Al-Hikam Student Islamic Boarding School and a lecturer in the UI Islamic Religion Course.
Dean of FEB UI, Teguh Dartanto, Ph.D., revealed that the renovation of the Al-Iqtishad Mosque was the result of a well-planned collaboration with Paragon Corp. He said, “The Al-Iqtishad Mosque is not only a place of worship, but also a space for gathering and discussion. The mosque facing the lake is equipped with two co-working spaces that aim to encourage the development of the halal industry and sharia finance.”
Meanwhile, according to Paragon Corp Commissioner, Ratih Safitri Ali, this collaboration can make Paragon Halal Hub a center of innovation and action in the economy and business based on Islamic values. The design of the Al-Iqtishad Mosque implements UI values by considering security and safety aspects according to international standards.
This mosque is designed in a circular shape to reflect the philosophy of the center of world civilization which often starts from water. With a new position facing the lake, this mosque is expected to become the center of life in the FEB UI environment.
In addition to the inauguration ceremony, KH. Muhammad Yusron Shidqi delivered a tausiyah as a moment of reflection for the participants. He reviewed the importance of maintaining a balance between work and worship, a concept that is relevant for academics and professionals in the modern era.
“The imbalance in work-worship balance is often rooted in personal problems that impact work productivity. Research shows that individuals with good spiritual satisfaction tend to have better work performance,” said Yusron.
He also emphasized the importance of starting the day with worship as the first step in creating a balance in life. “Happiness does not only come from material things, but also from spirituality obtained through solemn worship. One way to achieve this balance is through journaling, recording personal achievements, and evaluating worship,” he said.
The inauguration of the Al-Iqtishad Musalla and the tausiyahs are expected to bring blessings to the entire academic community of FEB UI and Paragon Corp and strengthen the synergy between the academic world and industry in building an ecosystem based on Islamic values.
