Course Description

The Department of Communication Studies to produce high-quality graduates excelling as ethical and morally-responsible professionals in the communication sciences, both in theory and practice, in Indonesia and abroad. In the Bachelor of Communication Studies program, students will direct to specialize in Journalism, Media Communication, Public Relations, and Advertising. The Postgraduate Communication Sciences program, meanwhile, is comprised of the following specializations: Media Management, Promotional Communication, Corporation Communication, and Management of Political Communication. The department of Communication Studies also holds, in addition to, regular bachelor programs, non-regular (parallel) programs and Special International Classes. Communication Science graduates generally work in mass media, advertising agencies, private companies (in public relations or publications), or government agencies.

This study program is open for regular undergraduate and parallel undergraduate classes, where the admission path for regular undergraduate courses is through SNMPTN, SBMPTN, and SIMAK-UI. As for similar classes, admission is through SIMAK-UI and PPKB.

Tuition Fee

Based on the UI Rector Decree No. 406/SK?R/UI/2021

Regular S1 education fees are paid according to the ability of the cost bearer. The payment scheme is called the Equitable Education Operational Cost (E-EOC).

E-EOC is paid in the range of IDR 100,000 – 5,000,000. However, as of 2013, there is no entry fee for regular undergraduates. Instead, the government subsidizes the entry fee through the Operational Assistance of State Universities.

UI uses the Single Tuition Fee payment system where students pay the unit fee for education determined by the study program and is no longer charged per credit.

For non-foreign nationals, Parallel undergraduate education costs are fixed. The amount of the EOC is IDR 12,000,000 per semester and IDR 14,000,000 for the entry fee.

For foreigners, the tuition fee for the Parallel undergraduate program is fixed. Therefore, the amount of the EOC is IDR 34,000,000 per semester and IDR 27,000,000 for the entry fee.

Political Science

Course Description

Two competencies aim to be developed in the Department of Political Science Undergraduate Program’s Curriculum. First, basic skills in the form of conceptual and theoretical analysis, mastery of methods, methods of research, and political commentary, as well as comparative and historical skills and knowledge. The second is practical skills, including writing, presentation, and debate skills. In addition, the Department of Political Science will direct students into two (2) specializations: Politics and Democratization in Indonesia and Comparative Politics. Political Science graduates from the Faculty of Social and Political Science generally can work in government (central and regional), legislative institutions, the TNI, or national and international community organizations.

This study program is only open to the Regular Undergraduate education program with a quota of 50% from the invitation route, namely SNMPTN, and 50% from the written exam, namely SBMPTN and SIMAK-UI. As for parallel classes through SIMAK-UI and PPKB.

Kriminologi

Course Description

The Department of Criminology FSPS-UI has the vision to realize the Department of Criminology as a provider of education, teaching, and community service in research-based criminology to answer national and international crime problems. Therefore, one of the objectives of the undergraduate education program of the Department of Criminology is to produce graduates who master the scientific foundations, knowledge, and methodology of criminology so that they can formulate alternative policies for preventing and overcoming crime as a social problem.

This study program is open for the regular undergraduate class, where the admission route for the regular undergraduate class is through the SNMPTN, SBMPTN, and SIMAK-UI.

Sociology

Course Description

The Department of Sociology, FISIP-UI is a scientific community with integrity, always upholds honesty in achieving superior academic achievements, and cares for humanity without distinguishing between individuals and groups. Educational programs at the Department of Sociology provide students with expertise in planning and managing social development programs, solving social problems, and participating in social activities. Graduates of the Sociology Department undergraduate program are also expected to be able to carry out and develop education, research, and community service by having social, creative, and critical sensitivity. Sociology graduates can work in research institutions, NGOs, mass media, and government agencies.

Social Welfare Sciences

Course Description

The Department of Social Welfare Sciences undergraduate program aims to produce graduates with essential knowledge and skills to reduce social injustice and inequality, as well as manage social problems through the development of preventive, curative, rehabilitative, and developmental programs. Department of Social Welfare will direct students to three (3) areas of specialization: specialization in social development and regional autonomy, the field in program planning and evaluation, and discipline in community development, poverty, and corporate social responsibility.
The curriculum for the undergraduate program in Social Welfare includes Social Development Fundamentals, Service Organization Management, Disaster Management Management, and Social Welfare Philosophy and Ethics. Graduates of Social Welfare Sciences are generally needed in central and local government institutions, especially those in charge of social affairs, non-governmental organizations, or companies with social activity units. Social Antropology

Course Description

Anthropology is the study of the culture of a particular ethnic group. The Anthropology Department of FSPS UI aims to produce graduates capable of critical thinking, appreciate diversity and socio-cultural dynamics in local, national, and global contexts, and possess the ability to conduct anthropological research to describe the reality of diversity and socio-cultural life. In addition to government agencies, anthropologists are also needed in research institutions or foreign companies that have work areas in Indonesia.

International Relations Science

Course Description

International Relations Science FISIP UI aims to produce graduates who can understand, explain and analyze various phenomena of international relations, and can play an active role in various professional fields that are relevant in this field, both in the government sector, research, education, and other sectors, national level as well as international.

The curriculum includes Foreign Policy Diplomacy and Analysis, International Political Economy Theory, Transnational Security Issues, and Indonesian Foreign Policy. Many graduates of this study program have careers as diplomats or work in international organizations.

This study program is only open to the Regular Undergraduate education program with a quota of 50% entry from the SNMPTN invitation and 50% from the SBMPTN and SIMAK-UI examination.

Tuition Fee

Undergraduate Communication Program (KKI)

Course Description

The Department of Communication Studies aims to produce high-quality graduates who will take part as professionals and have moral ethics in communication science and practice nationally and internationally. The Bachelor of Communication Science program will direct students to specializations that specifically cover the fields of Journalism, Media Communication, Public Relations, Advertising, and Broadcasting Creative Industries. Meanwhile, the Post-Graduate Communication Studies program includes specializations in Media Management, Promotion and Marketing Communications, Corporate Communications, and Political Communication Management. In addition to regular undergraduate programs, the Department of Communication Studies also organizes education for non-regular (parallel) undergraduate programs and special international classes. Graduates of Communication Studies generally work in mass media, advertising agencies, private companies (in the field of public relations or publications), or government agencies.

Entrance pathways for the Bachelor of International Special Class in Communication Studies are through SIMAK and Talent Scouting.

Minimum TOEFL = 500 or IELTS = 5.5
