Alley Market 2024 at UI: Presenting Various Food Products, Electronics and Innovative Applications Needed by the Community

The Faculty of Administrative Sciences (FIA), Universitas Indonesia (UI), held Alley Market 2024: “Make it happen: Ignite Your Ideas”. The event was held from May 13 to 17, 2024 in the parking area and hallway of the FIA UI Depok campus. Alley Market 2024 provided an opportunity for students of the Commercial Administration study program to develop entrepreneurial skills.

Through the Creativity Thinking and Entrepreneurship course, they are given the opportunity to design and develop innovative and sustainable business ideas. Chief Executive of Alley Market 2024, Afrael Zaldy, said that this activity is not just a product exhibition, but also a place for students to learn about market competition in the business world, gain knowledge about risk management, and improve their ability in entrepreneurship. “The existence of this activity is expected to hone entrepreneurial skills to take real steps in building a business, and increase self-confidence in the social sphere,” he said.

A total of 24 business tenants were on display, including Willow (portable water pillow), Petify (smart collar to track pets’ activities and adventures), Sustainasoft (biodegradable sanitary pad), Measugar (Apps-based sugar tracker for daily consumption), Aimy (false nail stick), Loey (scented pocket jacket), Diabeats (onigiri tiwul for diabetics), Obijit (back massager belt), Serenè (practical travel pillow with gel and eye patch), Style+R (patchwork clothing), GLAMPSE (all-in-one integrated platform for beauty needs), Parkir. in (mall parking reservation app), and FLEXFIX (online mechanic call platform).

Other tenants are Kawan Jalan (tour guide booking application), ResQBites (an application that provides excess food at an affordable price but guaranteed quality), HER (vending machine for women’s health products), Kleanse (pioneer of soap in Indonesia with environmentally friendly packaging), Cocova (herbal or plant-based healthy ice cream (coconut and guava), Shumamy (a practical and filling sushi burger fusion), Parent Things (an all-in-one edutech application for parents in providing quality education and parent education for children), TrueBeauty (a website for beauty services), AEGIS (an all-in-one integrated solution for MSMEs), DROB (shared space storage space) and QUICKFIT (an innovative, fast, and practical solution for emergency health needs through vending machines).

Dean of FIA UI, Prof. Dr. Chandra Wijaya, M.Si., M.M. said Alley Market 2024 is UI’s commitment to helping students develop their entrepreneurial potential, so they are ready to face challenges in an increasingly complex business world. “This event not only promotes products, but also expands their network and business skills,” Prof. Chandra said.

Alley Market 2024 aims to improve the entrepreneurship skills and competencies of students, especially those taking the Creativity Thinking and Entrepreneurship courses. This activity is also a place to apply business plans and get a feel for market competition in the business world and train students’ skills in promoting and selling their business products.
