Depok, July 12th 2023. Rector of Universitas Indonesia (UI), Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., appointed three Vice Dean for the Faculty of Social and Political Science and the Faculty of Law UI on Wednesday (12/7) at Balai Kirti, Administration Center, Universitas Indonesia, Depok. Prof. Ari Kuncoro appointed Dwi Ardhanariswari, Ph.D. as the Vice Dean for Resources, Venture, and General Administration Faculty of Social and Political Science UI year 2021-2025; Prof. Dr. Muhamad Ramdan Andri Gunawan Wibisana, S.H., LL.M. as the Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs Faculty of Law UI year 2023-2027; and Endah Hartati, S.H., M.H. as the Vice Dean for Resources, Venture, and General Administration Faculty of Law UI year 2023-2027.
The appointment of the three vice deans was in accordance to the Rector Decree of Universitas Indonesia Number 681/SK/R/UI/2023 on Interim Appointment of Vice Dean for Resources, Venture, and General Administration Faculty of Social and Political Science UI year 2021-2025; and Number 740/SK/R/UI/2023 on Discharge of the Vice Deans of Faculty of Law year 2019-2023 and Appointment of the Vice Deans of Faculty of Law 2019-2023. The Chairman of Academic Senate, Prof. Nachrowi Djalal Nachrowi, M.Sc., M.PHil., Ph.D., and University Secretary, dr. Agustin Kusumayati, M.Sc., Ph.D. were present as the witnesses of the appointment.
In his opening speech, Prof. Ari congratulated the three chosen Vice Deans and conveyed his gratitude to Dr. Jajang Gunawijaya; Prof. Dr. Muhamad Ramdan Andri Gunawan Wibisana, S.H., LL.M.; serta Dr. Parulian Paidi Aritonang, S.H., LL.M., MPP., for finishing their tenure and contributing significantly to the growth Faculty of Social and Political Science and Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia.
Prof. Ari stated that the two faculties hold a significant role in society, especially in regards to the political tides that will occur next year. The Faculty of Social and Political Science has a role to educate the citizens, both before and during the election, to counter hoax amidst the lack of media literacy. On the other hand, the Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia is in charge of ensuring that the values of Pancasila are reflected in Indonesia’s law system.
“I have hope that those who are appointed today can contribute especially to Indonesia’s higher education in the middle of the preparation for 2024 Election and the change of geopolitical environment throughout the nations. Through networking with international colleagues, UI should take note of the global events and utilize the strength of Indonesia to find solution for global problems,” said Prof. Ali.
