Depok, October 21st 2023. The Faculty of Nursing (FIK) Universitas Indonesia (UI) was named the best nursing science faculty in Indonesia according to EduRank 2023. In its announcement, FIK UI was ranked 1st in Indonesia, 36th in Asia, and 379th in the world. This ranking is based on reputation, research performance, and the impact produced by alumni with detailed research data in the nursing field of 1.3 million citations received by 805 thousand academic papers and created by 60 universities in Indonesia.
“We are humbled to receive this recognition, which reflects FIK UI’s commitment for excellence in nursing education. This is a collaborative achievement that appreciates the hard work, spirit of innovation, and dedication of teaching staff, students, and the entire FIK UI community,” said Agus Setiawan, S.Kp., M.N., D.N., Dean of FIK UI.
He further said that FIK UI will continue to advance education and research in nursing science, create opportunities for students to achieve success in the professional world and contribute to improving health care in Indonesia. FIK UI continues to achieve new achievements in nursing education and research, and remains committed to its vision, namely to become a center for developing nursing science and technology that is adaptive, culturally sensitive, and competitive to contribute to the development of public health in Indonesia and the world by 2035.
“To be ranked first in Indonesia is certainly a big mandate and responsibility. Therefore, FIK UI always develops various innovations and achievements both in the health and social fields of society. This is proven by various community services carried out in almost all corners of Indonesia, research grants, student exchanges abroad through the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program, holding summer courses, as well as winning various competitions at national and international levels. Not only academically, FIK UI also proves its achievements in the fields of arts, sports and even languages,” said Agus.
Apart from being named the best Faculty of Nursing in Indonesia according to EduRank, currently all study programs at FIK UI have achieved superior accreditation from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Higher Education in Indonesia (LAMP-PTKes). Moreover, the Bachelor of Nursing and Professional Nursing Study Program has also been internationally accredited by the Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences (AHPGS) and the Asean University Network (AUN QA).
As a nursing pioneer in Indonesia which was founded in 1985 and is also a center for nursing education, FIK UI has a role as a supervisor for several higher nursing education institutions in Indonesia. Currently, FIK UI has several study programs ranging from Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing with eight specializations, including Nursing Leadership and Management; Community Nursing; Maternity Nursing; Medical Surgical Nursing; Psychiatric Nursing; Pediatric Nursing; Oncology Nursing; Gerontic Nursing; Community Nursing Specialist; Maternity Nursing Specialist; Medical Surgical Nursing Specialist; Psychiatric Nursing Specialist; Pediatric Nursing Specialist; Oncology Nursing Specialist; and Doctor of Nursing Science.
