As a form of collaboration with Universitas Indonesia (UI), five UI students received scholarships from Jardine Cycle and Carriage through Jardine Cycle and Carriage Scholarship Ceremony. This scholarship was directly handed over by Group General Counsel Jardine Cycle and Carriage, Jeffery Tan dan Assistant Manager Corporate Communication Jardine Cycle and Carriage, Samuel Tan to Director of Student Affairs UI Badrul Munir, Ph.D., and Head of Sub Directorate of Student Welfare UI Achmad Solechan, M.Si.
In his opening remarks, Munir said, “This is as part of UI’s mission in expanding opportunities for students to grow, especially those who are from middle to lower class and need additional funds to meet their college needs. UI continues to make efforts by exploring and establishing cooperative relationships with various partners. With this scholarship, hopefully, the scholarship recipients will always be motivated to give contributions and benefits for UI and Jardine Cycle and Carriage in the future.”
The scholarships are allocated to students in all disciplines. Jeffery Tan emphasized that the scholarship focuses on academic achievement and can be a motivation for students to contribute to the community and society.
“Our hope is that the recipients of this scholarship can continue their studies and reflect on their future and that of others as well as develop their potential,” said Jeffery.
The scholarship recipients consist of a student from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI, Muhammad Prudentio Jawairul Falah; two students from the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) UI, Aifa Humaira Akmalia and Nurul Rahmawati; as well as two students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UI, David Ubaidillah and Anggito Damar Abimanyu. The handover of scholarships was conducted in Meeting Room A, Floor 2, Rectorate UI Building, on Wednesday (15/2).
As one of the scholarship recipients, Prudentio said, “This scholarship gives me hope and courage to increase my potential to achieve my dreams and academic goals. I hope that I can learn a lot and continue to be responsible for my commitment to developing the academic opportunities provided by this scholarship.” said Prudentio.

In the commemoration of 120 years of partnership, Jardine Cycle and Carriage launched Jardine Cycle & Carriage Scholarships at five leading universities in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand, to support higher education.
