The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Indonesia (UI) today announced the acquisition of the Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business (AACSB) international accreditation at the FEB UI Campus, Depok. AACSB accreditation is one of the world’s most prestigious accreditations for business schools. Of the approximately 13,000 business schools in the world, less than 6% have been internationally accredited by AACSB given the rigor of this accreditation process.

Universitas Indonesia (UI) Rector, Prof. Ari Kuncoro, Ph.D.

“UI benefits from FEB UI’s participation as an ambassador of UI in this international accreditation, with the implementation of various processes of improvement and enhancement, innovation, cooperation and contribution to society, as required by AACSB accreditation. All of them will affect UI’s spirit in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely, education, research and community service,” said UI Rector, Prof. Ari Kuncoro, Ph.D. “Of course we hope that this success will also encourage UI in international rankings, so that it can raise Indonesian education in the global level,” he said again.

Dean of Universitas Indonesia School of Economics and Business (FEB UI) Teguh Dartanto, Ph.D.

“The long process of getting recognized by AACSB International is a process of continuous improvement for FEB UI. There are 15 standards assessed in this process, including determining the vision and mission of FEB UI, educational management strategies, lecturer development, and many more,” said Teguh Dartanto, Ph.D., Dean of FEB UI. “There are 12 study programs that we participate in this accreditation process, making FEB UI the Faculty of Economics and Business that has received the largest accreditation (in terms of number) in Indonesia so far,” he continued.

FEB UI has made various innovations, established relationships with various parties and made positive contributions in its 72-year journey. “This international recognition makes us more excited to enter the age of 72 and will continue to carry out our mission to contribute to the development of knowledge in the fields of economics and business, as well as preparing inclusive, relevant and reputable leaders, who have social responsibility and are able to face global challenges,” Teguh said.

Executive Vice President AACSB International Dr. Geoff Perry

Synonymous with the highest quality standards, AACSB accreditation inspires new ways of thinking in business education globally. “We congratulate Universitas Indonesia, Faculty of Economics and Business, for achieving AACSB accreditation and applaud Dean Teguh Dartanto and the entire Faculty of Economics and Business team for their role in achieving this distinguished award,” said Dr. Geoff Perry, Executive Vice President of AACSB International, who was present at the announcement at FEB UI.

“UI’s commitment to gain accreditation is a clear reflection of their dedication—not only to students, the alumni network, and the larger business community, but also to the higher education industry as a whole. Today’s students are tomorrow’s business leaders, and the addition of FEB UI to the AACSB-accredited business school network will have a positive impact both locally and globally,” said Stephanie Bryant, Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer of AACSB, in a release.

AACSB, founded in 1916, was the first global accrediting body for business schools, and the largest business education network connecting students, educators and businesses around the world. AACSB-accredited business schools have successfully undergone a rigorous review process in the business education community, ensuring that they have the resources, credentials, and commitment necessary to deliver first-class, future-focused business education.

Chairperson of the FEB UI Alumni Association (ILUNI), Alexandra Askandar also expressed her appreciation and pride for her alma mater. “The achievement of AACSB Accreditation is part of FEB UI’s journey to continue to always make continuous improvements, provide a positive impact on society, participate in national development and the development of science. I represent all alumni of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia, congratulate all FEB UI academicians, and we as alumni, as an inseparable part of FEB UI, will continue to be ready to support the journey of FEB UI in the future,” said Alexandra.

the Dean of FEB, Teguh Dartanto said that FEB UI had also renewed the AMBA International accreditation (Association of MBAs) for the Master of Management study program (MM FEB UI), thus making FEB UI the only business school in Indonesia that has a “Double Crown”, namely the level of highest international recognition of higher education business schools (AACSB and AMBA).
