FEB UI RANKED AS THE BEST BUSINESS SCHOOL IN INDONESIA BY QS WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKINGS 2024
The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Indonesia (UI), has been named the Best Business School in Indonesia based on The Quacquarelli Symonds World University Ranking (QS WUR) by Subject 2024. The title was achieved by FEB UI for three majors, namely Accounting & Finance, Business & Management Studies, and Economics & Econometrics.
Dean of FEB UI, Teguh Dartanto, Ph.D. said this achievement resulted from hard work and consistency from all FEB UI academicians, including lecturers, students, education staff, alumni, and FEB UI partners. “I am proud of FEB UI’s achievements in QS WUR by Subject 2024, where all fields of Accounting and Finance, Business and Management Studies, Economics, and Econometrics, are not only the leading and best in Indonesia, but there has also been a significant increase in ranking in the world, especially in the field of Economics and Econometrics which increased by one hundred ranks,” Teguh said.
In QS WUR by Subject 2024, FEB UI experienced a significant increase in ranking in the field of Business and Management Studies, from 201-250 (2023) to 151-200 (2024) and Economics and Econometrics from 251-300 (2023) to 151-200 (2024). Meanwhile, Accounting and Finance is still on the same superior position, namely 101-150.
Teguh hopes that the entire FEB UI academic community will not be complacent about this achievement, but will be encouraged to continue to make continuous improvements to focus on the vision and mission of FEB UI to produce leaders who are inclusive, relevant, and reputable. Since 2022, FEB UI has earned the double crown accreditation title, a prestigious term for business schools that have successfully obtained two international accreditations, namely from The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and from the Association of MBAs (AMBA).
Thanks to these accreditations, FEB UI has succeeded in improving academic quality, service quality, and the quality of international standard facilities and infrastructure. This continuous improvement has helped FEB UI achieve the highest ranking in QS WUR by Subject 2024.
“Business school has always been one of the fields of science that always attracts enthusiasts due to the wide potential for employment, and types of industries requiring experts in the fields of economics, finance, management, and accounting. We continue to make continuous innovations and developments to further improve the quality of FEB UI as an institution and the human resources produced, especially to prepare for the Golden Indonesia 2045,” Teguh said.
QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of worldwide university rankings published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) which is used as a reference for the quality of world higher education. In 2024, Universitas Indonesia (UI) again achieved the top position among Indonesian universities. UI achieved the highest score in three of the five Broad Subject Areas, namely Social Sciences & Management, Arts & Humanities, and Life Sciences & Medicine.
The QS World University Ranking methodology uses five indicators of assessment metrics. The five indicators are: (1) academic reputation; (2) the results of global surveys conducted among graduate users and academics; (3) the number of research citations the university achieves per paper in the subject (all citation data is sourced from Elsevier Scopus); (4) the ‘H-index’ which measures the productivity and impact of academics’ published research; (5) the International Research Network which reflects the institution’s ability to diversify the geography of their international research network by building sustainable research partnerships with other higher education institutions.
