Faculty of Dentistry of Universitas Indonesia (FKG UI) conducted Hippocratic Oath ceremony for 25 new dentist graduates and released nine specialist dentist graduates consisting of five graduates of prosthodontia specialist dentists and four graduates of oral and maxillofacial surgery specialist dentists, as well as a master’s graduate and two doctoral graduates of Dentistry Sciences. This ceremony was held at the event of Oath-Taking of New Dentist and Graduation of Specialist Dentists, Masters, and Doctors, which was held in a blended session on Friday, April 1, 2022.
On the occasion, Dean of Faculty of Dentistry UI Dr. drg. Nia Ayu Ismaniati, MDSc., Sp.Ort(K). delivered her congratulations and hopes to the new dentists, specialist dentists, masters and doctors of FKG UI to be able to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired during their education. It is hoped that the knowledge they gained will improve service quality, scientific development, and implementation of research in the field of dental and oral health with all their sincerity and responsibility, to achieve better oral and dental health in Indonesia.
“This oath-taking and graduation ceremony is not the end of the learning process, but on the contrary, the knowledge you have gained during your education at this campus must be applied to the maximum and as well as possible in serving and helping the community in solving existing problems, especially in dental and oral health. UI will always support and be a forum for its graduates in an effort to improve knowledge and skills throughout their lives,” said UI Rector Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., in his online welcoming speech.
With the addition of today’s graduates, the total number of FKG UI dentist graduates to this date is 3,504 people, consisting of 664 (18.95%) male dentists and 2,840 (81.05%) female dentists, 1,272 specialist dentists, 111 Masters and 125 Doctoral graduates. In the oath-taking and graduation ceremony, FKG UI gave awards to three graduates who achieved the best achievements by taking into account their Grade Point Average (GPA), the duration of completion of the education period, and various achievements during their study period.
In the category of graduates with the highest GPA achieved by drg. Ardelia Nada, with a GPA of 3.92; the category of graduates with the best achievement was achieved by drg. Darwin Yunaidy, with a GPA of 3.87; and Dr. drg. Sariesendy, Sp.Ort(K) won the title of the best graduate of the postgraduate program with a GPA of 3.93.
Representative of Graduates of the Dentist Profession Program, drg. Darwin Yunaidy, S.K.G, expressed his gratitude to FKG UI, “FKG UI has given us a lot of knowledge, both in dentistry and in life, and has become a place for us to realize our dreams of becoming dentists.”
Meanwhile, representatives of specialist, master and doctoral graduates, namely Dr.drg.Sariesendy, Sp.Ort (K) said that the journey during the Specialist, Master, and Doctoral Dentist education program was an extraordinary struggle that we had gone through with full of ups and downs. The pandemic, which is still ongoing today, is a challenge in itself that forges us to remain steadfast in striving and eager for studying amidst the worries and limitations.
