Nur Hanifah Lastianto, a student from the Faculty of Engineering (FT) at Universitas Indonesia (UI) class of 2019, made achievements at the international level in a business competition organized by Unilever Global. Nur Hanifah Lastianto and her two colleagues Aurel Fidelia and Frederik Agustian represented Indonesia in the prestigious Unilever Future Leaders League (UFLL) Global Round 2023 competition.
The team representing Unilever Indonesia succeeded in winning the First Runner Up title, by beating several other teams from various countries in the world. This competition was held on 11th-14th of July 2023 in London, England. Unlike Nur Hanifah, Aurel and Frederik come from the School of Business Management, Bandung Institute of Technology (SBM ITB).
“We are a team that succeeded in defeating seventeen other teams from various countries in the world, by providing creative and inspiring solutions in solving case studies from one of the Unilever brands, namely AXE. The strategy we provide is an end-to-end strategy in solving case studies of the problems faced by AXE. Thanks to this strategy, we managed to become the First Runner Up Global,” said Nur Hanifah.
Initially, the three students initially took part in the Unilever Future Leaders League (UFLL) Indonesia 2023 competition, on February 10th-March 17th 2023. They are the three students who succeeded in achieving individual winners at the national level. The three of them were then combined into a team representing Unilever Indonesia and had the opportunity to compete in the UFLL Global Round in London, England.
In a separate occasion, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., gave his best appreciation for the achievements of the FTUI student, “This competition proves that the capabilities of FTUI students can compete on a global scale in exploring creative and inspiring solutions to solve case studies of one of Unilever’s brands. Achievements like this should be a relay of enthusiasm that must be passed on to other FTUI students, so that this tradition of victory on an international scale can be maintained properly,” he said.
Thanks to achieving First Runner Up Global in the 2023 UFLL Global Round competition, these three students from Indonesia are entitled to the opportunity of mentoring and receive direct feedback from the Unilever Global Manager. In addition, they also establish international networks with students from various universities around the world.
This year, the UFLL Global Round encourages participants to become drivers of change that can bring happiness through Unilever products. In accordance with the theme, participants were invited to spread hope and optimism to society and the environment. They were challenged to become agents of change by solving a case study of one of Unilever’s brands, namely AXE.
Unilever Future Leaders League Global Round is a business competition organized by Unilever Global in order to produce global future leaders by focusing on solving applicable case studies, which are capable of applying leadership in running a business.
