The Alumni Association of Universitas Indonesia (ILUNI) UI, which is made up of alumni of the Faculty of Psychology, collaborated with the Makara UI Satellite Clinic to launch the 100 Psychologists Counseling Program for a Healthier UI Mentally as an effort to support students’ mental health. This initiative is part of a series of activities for the 2024 Mental Health Summit and is driven by the increasing need for counseling services among UI students.
The Chairperson of the UI Psychology Alumni Association, Isdar Andre Marwan, S.Psi, Psychologist, emphasized that mental health is an important foundation for students to face academic and life challenges. He hopes that this program can provide easier access to quality psychology services. “We believe that students’ mental health is an important foundation for facing academic and life challenges. Through this program, we want to provide easier and better access to psychology services for UI students,” he said.
This program was inaugurated through the Kick Off Program Konseling Psikologi Gratis (Kick Off Free Psychology Counseling Program) event, which was also enlivened by various activities such as workshops, talk shows, and free counseling services. This program was made possible through the collaboration of ILUNI Psychology UI, Makara UI Satellite Clinic, Faculty of Psychology UI, and BEM of the Faculty of Psychology UI, with the implementation planned to last for one full year until October 2025.
This program offers services that include individual counseling by professional psychologists, Psychological First Aid (PFA) training to provide emotional support to individuals in crises, and psychoeducational classes that discuss topics such as stress management, self-development, and interpersonal skills. The Chairperson of the Committee, Drs. Julyvan Pertamawan, Psychologist, stated that this collaboration is a significant initial step in creating a positive impact on the mental health of students and the younger generation more broadly. “This collaboration is the initial step to provide a greater impact on improving the mental health of students and the younger generation in general,” he said.
This initiative also received appreciation from the University Secretary of UI, dr. Agustin Kusumayati, M.Sc., Ph.D, and the Head of the Makara UI Satellite Clinic, Dr. dr. Dhanasari Vidiawati, M.Sc, CM-FM, Sp.KKLP. They consider this program to strengthen a shared commitment to addressing mental health challenges on campus.
In addition to providing a direct impact on UI students, this program is also expected to create a broader positive effect in society through integrated mental health education and services.
