Indonesia Law Review (ILRev): Another FHUI Journal Indexed in Scopus

The Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia (FHUI) recently published 11 legal journals, both managed by Faculty Management, Field of Study, and the Research Center under the Djokosoetono Research Center (DRC). On Tuesday (28/2), Indonesia Law Review (ILRev) published by DRC FHUI was successfully indexed by Scopus. ILRev is the second Scopus-indexed journal after Indonesian Journal of International Law (IJIL) which obtained it in 2022.

ILRev is an open-access, double-blind, peer-reviewed legal journal published by DRC FHUI in 2011 to address the lack of scholarly literature on Indonesian law that is accessible in English to international audiences. Recognizing global challenges and expanding legal interactions in developing countries, ILRev also accepts articles on legal development in the ASEAN region and the Global South. ILRev encourages a comparative, multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary legal approach, and so on in order to enrich the development of legal studies.

ILRev focuses on the latest developments in legal studies covering legal reform and development, contemporary social issues, and institutional changes in Indonesia. With the Scopus index that was successfully obtained, ILRev is expected to be able to improve the quality of scientific legal literature publishing in Indonesia and the dissemination of legal ideas from Indonesia to the regional and international regions.

Dean of FHUI Dr. Edmon Makarim, S.Kom., S.H., LL.M. expressed his gratitude to those who have helped ILRev obtain the Scopus index. This success is the outcome of the hard work of journal managers, executives, and FHUI academics in recent years as part of FHUI’s internationalization program.

Dr. Edmon hopes that ILREV managers will continue to maintain and improve the quality of journals, so that they can be included in the clustering of journal quality (quartile) according to the scoring mechanism implemented by Scopus. “Hopefully the achievements obtained by ILRev can provide motivation for other journals under FHUI,” said Dr. Edmon.

Meanwhile, Chairpeson of DRC FHUI Dr. Patricia Rinwigati said that ILRev’s achievement in Scopus indexation was a long journey and not an easy thing. “Finally, after 8 months of waiting and quite a long preparation, ILRev has been accepted into Scopus with good comments from the reviewers. We hope that ILRev will become a forum for the contributions of academics’ ideas to be conveyed to the wider community as a reference, both nationally and internationally,” said Dr. Patricia, who is also a part of the academic personnel of FHUI.
