Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Indonesia (UI) held a panel
discussion on Monday, May 15 th 2017 at Auditorium KKI Room, FEB UI.
This panel discussion was supported and held by Bank Indonesia and International
Monetary Fund (IMF) World Bank Group. The event was attended by 126 participants that
were consisted of FEB UI students, Faculty of Engineering UI students, UI Alumni, public,
institution and several companies.
The discussion that was titled “Indonesia Leading Role in The Global Economy” was led
by Fithra Faisal Hastiadi, Ph.D as moderator. Meanwhile, attended as speaker were Papa
M. Bagnick N’Diaye as Deputy Division Chief in the IMF Strategy, Policy, and Review
Department; John Nelmes as resident representative of IMF Indonesia; and Peter Jacobs
as Head of Bank Indonesia Task Force for Annual Meetings 2018.
In 2018, Indonesia will be the host of Annual Meetings with delegation member of IMF and
World Bank from all over the world in Nusa Dua, Bali, October 12 th to 14 th .
Annual Meetings is one of the biggest event that will be attended by prominent person in
finance field. The meeting was initiated by IMF and the board of governors of World Bank.
Moreover, the event will be attended by 189 IMF member countries, The Ministry of
Finances, The Central Bank Governors, CEO of Financial Industries, reputable
academicians, international institutions, civil society organizations representatives, and
parliament members.
Annual Meetings 2018 is the top and biggest momentum for Indonesia to promote and
show up all good potential. By the held of Annual Meetings 2018, Indonesia could increase
their credibility on international level by becoming the reliable host.
