Universitas Indonesia (UI) held an appointment of oaths or promises for Permanent Employees (PNS and Non-PNS), as well as the Inauguration and Oath Taking of Functional Positions of Archivists and Health Workers of Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) within UI. The oath-taking was led by the Vice Rector for Human Resources and Assets, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA, which was held at the UI Hospital Auditorium, 4th Floor, Administration Building on Tuesday (25/6). The number of participants who took the oath was 252 people with details, 1 Civil Servant (PNS), 192 PPPK, 5 PUI Archivists and 54 PUI Lecturers & Education Personnel.
The appointment of oaths or promises aims to provide recognition and a strong commitment to improving the competence of professional human resources and improving overall organizational performance. “The oath and pledge activity that has just been carried out is a momentum for fostering and strengthening commitment to be loyal, have integrity and be responsible in carrying out their daily professional duties. Of course, the benchmark of UI’s greatness is the many achievements of UI lecturers, students, education staff and alumni,” Prof. Dedi said.
Prof. Dedi added that to achieve the expected progress, human capital is needed to continuously improve capacity, capability, and skills. This is aimed at improving themselves, both nationally and internationally in various fields, so that they can take an important role in these efforts and, ultimately, lead UI to greater achievements in the future.
UI encourages employees to internalize the nine UI values into their daily behavior: Honesty, Justice, Trustworthiness, Dignity, Responsibility, Togetherness, Openness, Academic Freedom and Scientific Autonomy, and Compliance with Applicable Laws. The UI values reflect an inclusive attitude in addressing the diversity that exists at UI such as faculty, ethnicity, language, and culture which is a strength in supporting the realization of UI’s vision and mission.
Furthermore, Prof. Dedi hopes that the employees who have taken their oaths and promises will always prioritize UI values. Thus, UI people are not only seen as superior in terms of intellect and competence, but also have attitudes and behaviors that can be an example in society and state life. “It is expected to strengthen UI’s role as an institution that produces outstanding individuals and also individuals with integrity and noble character.”
