Universitas Indonesia (UI) once again participated in the World Education Expo (WEE) 2024 as part of its commitment to provide broad and equitable access to information on education programs, tuition fees, admission pathways, and scholarships to prospective students, teachers, and parents throughout Indonesia. WEE 2024, which is one of the largest education exhibitions in Indonesia, presents more than 1,000 educational institutions and takes place in four major cities: Medan (August 28), Jakarta (August 31), Surabaya (September 1), and Denpasar (September 3). In addition, UI is also participating in the 2024 Higher Education Fair (Bidikti) at SMA Kolese Loyola, Semarang (September 7-8).
“UI’s presence at this exhibition is our effort to expand access to information, both face-to-face and through social media, to ensure that information about UI can reach all parties, especially students, teachers, and parents in various regions,” said Head of the UI Public Relations and Public Information Disclosure (KIP) Bureau, Dra. Amelita Lusia, M.Si, CPR.
Amelita explained that this year is the eighth time UI has participated in WEE. At this exhibition, UI is represented by 14 faculties, the Vocational Education Program, and two schools under the auspices of the university. The Faculty of Medicine (FK) and the Faculty of Engineering (FT) are the two most popular and sought-after faculties by visitors, as seen from the high enthusiasm shown during the event.
At the UI booth, visitors obtained various important information, ranging from campus locations, tuition fees that can be adjusted to financial capabilities, the level of selection stringency, to various UI collaborations with universities at home and abroad. “We hope that visitors who are interested in continuing their studies at UI can get accurate information directly from the source, namely UI,” said Amelita.
UI is also committed to the concept of sustainability and environmental friendliness in every participation. At WEE 2024, UI reduced the use of printed brochures and directed visitors to access information via the landing page at https://www.ui.ac.id/penerimaan-universitas-indonesia/. “This is a manifestation of our commitment to support the go green effort and provide more in-depth and personalized information according to the needs of prospective students,” said Amelita further.
One of the visitors to the UI booth, Iffadhiya Fathin Adiba, a graduate of Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand, received information from UI. “After visiting the UI booth, I feel more enthusiastic to continue my studies. The information provided is very useful and broadened my horizons,” said Iffadhiya.
Through participation in WEE 2024, UI hopes to continue to be an educational institution that can be accessed by all groups in Indonesia, while providing transparent and comprehensive information to prospective students and parents.
