QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2022, the Asia Pacific higher education conference, will be opened by Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. Dr. (H.C.) K.H. Ma’ruf Amin, this morning (Tuesday, 8/11). Universitas Indonesia is hosting the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2022 with Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) – a global higher education analyst -, and co-host Prince of Songkla University (PSU). The event takes place for three days (November 8-10, 2022) at the Intercontinental Hotel Jakarta.

QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2022 gather the thought leaders and experts in higher education to discuss “The Next Big Thing: Addressing new opportunities and existing challenges in APAC higher education”. UI Rector Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E., M.A., Ph.D. said that “UI being trusted as the host of QS Higher Ed Summit Asia Pacific 2022 shows that Indonesia’s higher education is recognized internationally, as well as a forum to expand UI’s network among international universities. The event is also expected to contribute ideas on new opportunities and challenges facing higher education in Asia Pacific.”

Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Nadiem Makarim; Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of Indonesia LB Panjaitan; Minister of Finance Prof. Suahasil Nazara, President of Prince of Songkla University Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub; Director SEAMOA Secretariat Dr. Ethel Agnes Pascua-Valenzuela, ; and other speakers from Asia Pacific universities will present their thoughts at this prestigious event.

The event will take place in a panel discussion format. Participants will discuss upcoming trends for the Asia Pacific region, its needs and wants, and new opportunities faced by higher education. There are several subthemes that will be discussed, including Charting a Sustainable Future: Universities’ Responsibilities and Commitments, Partnerships, The Role of Higher Education in pushing towards Renewable Energy Transition, Collaboration, Lifelong Skills in a Changing World, and others.

In addition to panel discussions, this conference also presents more than 50 booths filled by universities in Asia Pacific.
