SA UI Sports Event

On Sunday, the Academic Senate (SA) of Universitas Indonesia organized a sports event with the members of SA UI, lecturers, educational staff, and students. This event, attracting more than 100 participants, began with casual cycling and walking around the UI Depok campus. The members of SA UI started early at the Pickle Ball field of the Faculty of Psychology (FPsi) UI with their tagline, kompak; guyub; bahagia; which highlighted their unity and high spirits.

The event began with warmups to avoid injuries. Next, the Head of SA UI, Prof. Budi Wiweko, or more familiarly, Prof. Iko, along with Prof. Praswati PDK Wulan, the Secretary of the UI Board of Trustees (MWA), and Prof. Indang Trihandini, the Secretary of the UI Council of Professors (DGB), did the flag off for the participants at Purnomo Prawiro Hall field.

The route starts from Balai Purnomo Prawiro to the water tower, passing by the yellow bus garage area and stopping temporarily at the UI Rotunda field to take group photos. After that, the route continues from Balairung UI, passing by the Faculty of Law (FH) UI and the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) UI, and ends by returning to Purnomo Prawiro Hall. The members of SA UI mingled with other cyclists and pedestrians exercising at the UI Depok campus. This event also functions as a forum to exchange ideas in a clean and healthy environment while enjoying the campus atmosphere, the lush trees, and the fresh air.

“This has become a way for SA UI to enjoy and improve life quality by balancing work with physical and spiritual health,” said Prof. Iko. Furthermore, he added that the tagline of SA UI contains the hope of every SA UI member to work together to build a better future for Universitas Indonesia.

He also stated that the plan for this event is for it to be done routinely and involves many more UI stakeholders. At the end of the event, the participants underwent a health assessment with RSUI, accompanied by health workers who provided consultations and recommendations for a healthier life.
