Universitas Indonesia (UI) through the Directorate of Cooperation is once again holding the UI Industrial-Government Expo (UI I-Gov Expo). This annual activity, which is being held for the third time, will take place on 5th–6th of December 2023, at the UI Depok Campus Hall. Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), Prof. Dr. (H.C.) K.H. Ma’ruf Amin, will open the event as well as be the keynote speaker who reviews efforts to develop the halal industrial ecosystem in Indonesia.
UI I-Gov Expo 2023 is an activity carried out to realize pentahelix cooperation involving academic partners, government, society, media, and industry. This activity aims to form synergy and collaboration between related parties in encouraging the nation’s prosperity through innovation in digitalization and building strong networks as a foundation for encouraging Indonesia’s prosperity. There are three main events held at the UI I-Gov Expo 2023, namely seminars, exhibitions, and awarding. In this event, there will also be socialization of halal certification for micro-small industry players which will be coordinated by the UI Halal Center.
The seminar entitled “Synergy and Collaboration to Promote People’s Welfare Through Digitalization” will present several speakers, including the Indonesian Minister of Home Affairs, Police General (Ret.) Prof. Drs. H. Muhammad Tito Karnavian; Deputy Governor of East Java, Dr. H. Emil Elestianto Dardak; President Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk., Sunarso; President Director of Telkom Indonesia, Ririek Adriansyah; UI Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. rer.nat Abdul Haris; and Google Cloud Indonesia Country Manager, Anang Efendy.
The speakers will discuss the development of digitalization of the industrial sector in Indonesia which includes “Digital Transformation for Public Services: Best Practice for East Java Province” and “Contribution of PT Telkom Tbk. in Increasing Digital Literacy in the Education and Health Sectors”. Apart from that, the topic of digitalization developments in Indonesia will also be discussed which reviews “Financial Digitalization Transformation in Indonesia in Supporting the Empowerment of MSMEs and the Halal Industry: Experience of PT BRI Tbk.” and “Digitalization in Indonesia: Conditions and Challenges Faced”.
In the exhibition activities, 60 tenants from internal parties and external partners will participate. UI’s internal parties consist of 14 Faculties, 2 Postgraduate Schools, 1 Vocational Education Program, and 5 Special Work Units. The external partners involved are the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Foundation (Bayan Resources); PLN (Learning Assignments at UI); Bank Partners (BRI, Mandiri, BNI, BTN, BJB, BSI, BCA); Business and Industrial World (Paragon Group, Microsoft, Telkom, Pertamina, Indosat, PT KAI, PT Transjakarta, HPM, Grab); Education Partners (Google, Pengmas UI, CIL, Makara UI Academy); as well as the Public Sector (Directorate General of Immigration and Traffic Directorate of Metro Police).
Apart from these two events, there will also be awards given to stakeholders who have collaborated with UI. Some of these include awards to Faculties/Postgraduate/Vocational Schools for the collaborative relationships that have been built with partners; also to external partners (government/institutions, industry, and media) who contribute to supporting the implementation of learning at UI.
