Times Higher Education (THE) World Higher Education Rating Agency (THE) re-released the list of World University Rankings (WUR) 2020 through the page https://www.timeshighereducation.com. The University of Indonesia (UI) ranking remains in the 601 – 800 world ranking group and is the best tertiary institution in Indonesia.
UI is the only university from Indonesia that is included in this group. As many as 1,400 universities in 92 countries in the world are included in THE WUR 2020 Ranking.
This is the fourth year that Indonesia has entered THE ranking. This rating agency consistently emphasizes assessment indicators based on Teaching Performance (teaching and learning activities); Research; Science transfer and sharing and the international scope of a university. UI obtained a total score of 28.3-35.2 with achievements per indicator namely Teaching Performance with a score of: 38.7; Research: 19.2; Quotation Performance: 16.7; Synergy in the industrial world: 81.6; and Internationalization scope: 53.7
UI Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Anis, M.Met said, “At present UI’s performance has increasingly been seen from the assessment of the world’s prestigious rating agency – THE, particularly in the Indicators of” Synergy in the Industrial World “.
THE uses this indicator to assess the ability of universities to support industry through breakthrough innovations, discoveries and ideas for the needs of industry and society. As the country’s best tertiary institution, UI focuses on being a think tank and solving problems in the community.
As a locomotive of higher education in Indonesia, UI will accelerate to become a higher education institution capable of contributing more to increase national growth and competitiveness at the global level, promote innovation and entrepreneurship and overcome social challenges.
