Dean of Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia (FHUI) attended Inaugural Conference on Legal Education in the Wake of the ASEAN Integration at Thammasat University, Bangkok on March 21st – 22nd 2016.
This Inaugural Conference is the initial series of the three related events related to the start of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) implementation, that are Inaugural Conference, National Rountable, and Final Conference that will be held next July.
Inaugural Conference in Bangkok participated by Dean or Head of Legal Departmen of FHUI, Thammasat University, University of Malaya, University of the Philippines, University of Hanoi, Prof Andrew Harding from National University of Singapore, and several speakers from Germany and France.
The event was opened by Prof Narong Jaiharn, Dean of Faculty of Law Thammasat University and followed by Legal Education speech by Prof Andrew Harding and experience in legal education on Europe integration by Prof Thomas Schmitz.
After that, the deans or head of departmen from 6 faculties of law discussed two main issues, that were “Challenges of the Administration of Legal Education” and “Bridging the Differences among ASEAN Schools”.
The closure of this conference is the arrangement of issues that will be discussed on national roundtable that will be held in each country and on the final conference that will be held next July in Bangkok.
