Universitas Indonesia (UI) has established a partnership with PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) in the field of developing a research ecosystem and services, and implementing community service. The signing of this partnership was carried out by the Vice Rector for Human Resources and Assets of UI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA, and President Director of PT Transportasi Jakarta, Welfizon Yuza, at the Tosari Transjakarta Bus Stop, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, August 28.
Prof. Dedi said, “This agreement will also be implemented through a partnership agreement between UI’s commercial business unit, namely PT Usaha Indonesia Advisory (UIA) with Transjakarta in terms of managing E-Wallet and Mobile Applications as well as collaboration in developing UI’s Community Service (Pengmas) through the ‘Holistic Health Center of Excellence’ program at several Transjakarta bus stops.” He also added that this collaboration is an important momentum for the triple helix partnership between UI, the Jakarta Regional Government, and Transjakarta.
Furthermore, Prof. Dedi said that the synergy between UI and Transjakarta further strengthens our commitment to developing a health service ecosystem and ease of making transactions for the public while traveling using Transjakarta. The development of a digital payment and community service ecosystem through the provision of health services at Transjakarta route points will provide great added value to increasing the value of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Among them are Goal 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth; Goal 9, Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure; Goal 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities; and Goal 17, Partnerships for the Goals.
“The synergy between UI and Transjakarta will encourage the spread of positive corporate values and provide direct benefits for Transjakarta users for sustainable development targets. I am sure, with support from all parties, the collaboration between UI and Transjakarta will become a new water tower for Jakarta residents, especially Transjakarta customers,” said Prof. Dedi.
Meanwhile, Welfizon Yuza said that until now Transjakarta has served 1.3 million trips every day. By operating 4,000 fleets every day, Transjakarta has served 90% of the DKI Jakarta area. In addition, he also said that 9 out of 10 DKI Jakarta residents have access to Transjakarta services. “Transjakarta is a platform that has quite large assets and customer capital, so this can certainly be utilized and collaborated,” said Welfizon Yuza.
In the future, one form of cooperation between UI and Transjakarta is to make the MH Thamrin Bus Stop the first pilot of the Health Center with its main focus on mental health. Then, the innovation of this activity is to empower and embrace various companies that will become donors. So, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs will be managed by UI by utilizing the accesses owned by Transjakarta.
“We hope that this will be the beginning of cooperation between two institutions that both want to provide community service. Thus, what has been outlined in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government that the Capital City moves to IKN Nusantara East Kalimantan, Jakarta will be positioned as a global city. So, these programs are one form of our efforts to be able to support Jakarta as a global city,” said Welfizon Yuza.
