Universitas Indonesia (UI) has once again maintained its position as the university with the most international publications in Indonesia. Throughout 2024, UI’s Scopus publications reached 3,764, consisting of 83 single research and 2,541 collaborative research involving various domestic and foreign university partners.

UI Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, expressed his appreciation to all UI academics who have contributed to producing superior research that has a significant impact on society. He hopes that this step will continue to be taken so that UI’s research results are useful not only for the Indonesian people, but also for the global community.

“In accordance with the UI Unggul Impactful tagline, UI continues to strive to provide the best contribution that has a broad impact on society. UI’s achievements in the field of international publications can certainly increase UI’s reputation at the global level. This will have an impact on opening up opportunities for global collaboration and encouraging the internationalization of higher education in Indonesia,” said Prof. Heri.

In addition to Scopus, this year, UI experienced an increase in international publications on Google Scholar. The number of UI publications increased from 162,848 documents with 1,275,815 citations to 176,977 documents with a total of 1,516,028 citations. SINTA is a website-based research information system managed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek). This system is used to measure the performance of researchers, institutions, and journals in Indonesia. The purpose of this measurement is to develop collaborative partnerships and analyze research trends and expert directories. In addition to UI researchers, SINTA is currently also assessing 262 departments at UI and 56 journals, some of which have been internationally accredited.
