UI Developed Cooperation in Nuclear Education with Russia’s Rosatom

In ATOMEXPO VIII 2016 that was held on May 30 th to June 1 st 2016 in Moscow, Russia, Universitas Indonesia (UI) signed cooperation agreement in nuclear research with Rosatom, Nuclear State Cooperation in Russia.

The cooperation was signed on Monday, May 30 th 2016. by Alexander Merten as President of Rusatom International Network (RIN), Rosatom's Subsidiary Company, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Anis, M.Met., Rector of UI.

The cooperation that will be done is on research field. There will be events in terms of education that will be done by two parties, such as student and teacher exchange, scientific seminars, and public education.

One of the issue that was discussed in this cooperation was about the establishment of nuclear engineering master degree in UI. “We proposed the idea to Rosatom, and got positive response for it,” said Dean of Faculty Engineering UI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA  This Master Degree in Nuclear Engineering will be leaning to nuclear development for security, safety, and tools.

Cooperation details will be detailed in technical review that will be done by the two parties in the near future. Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation is a Russian Nuclear State Cooperation that supervise more than 360 nuclear company, research and development institution, and the only company that supervise nuclear usage in Russia.

This State Cooperation is the leader of nuclear technology in the world, proven by their construction project implementation that has reached 38 nuclear reactors, 29 among of them are overseas project, such as in India, China, Turkey, Vietnam, Finland and Hungaria.
