UI Graduates Ready to Add Skills Through Grab’s CFO Graduate Program

Universitas Indonesia (UI) is committed to producing graduates who excel in academics and have the competencies required in the workplace. Therefore, UI collaborates with various industry partners – one of which is Grab Indonesia – to increase the skills of graduates. Through this collaboration, UI students have the opportunity to join the Indonesia Chief Financial Officer (ID CFO) Graduate Program organized by Grab Indonesia.

UI Director of Career Development, Graduate, and Alumni Relations (DPKHA), Ir. Ahmad Syafiq, M.Sc., Ph.D, strongly supports the program because it can be an option for UI graduates in an effort to start a career. “The ecosystem developed by Grab is very suitable for the characteristics of the future workplace:a place to learn and to express creative and innovative ideas. Hopefully, this kind of activity can be increased, so the opportunity for UI graduates to develop a career that matches their aspirations becomes more accessible,” said Syafiq.

The CFO Graduate Program is a program that provides work experience for university graduates. The program gives participants the opportunity to work in Grab’s Finance and Business Departments for 24 months and be involved in Grab’s development projects. Participants will be rotated to four sections, namely Financial Planning & Analysis, Controllership, Strat Financial, and Corporation Strategy.

Grab’s Chief Financial Officer, Dion Soetadi, in the Grab Campus Talk event held at the Student Center of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UI, last Wednesday (24/4), said that the CFO Graduate Program was successfully implemented in Singapore. This success then encouraged the implementation of the program in Indonesia. “The implementation of this program has three main objectives, namely multi-sector collaboration (finance, business, and technology); training; and direct guidance from senior experts in their fields,” he said.

Through the program, new ideas provided by the participants can be absorbed into the organizational culture. In addition, participants can also improve their career and networking skills. “We believe that UI graduates who are known as figures with a myriad of extraordinary ideas can contribute greatly to this program,” said Anthon Suryadi as Accounting Head, GFS, Rental and Wheal Bussines Grab.

The CFO Graduate Program seeks candidates with several criteria: a 2024 graduate majoring in business, economics, industrial engineering, or mathematics with a minimum GPA of 3.60; have a good track record and are actively involved student organizations; passionate in finance and technology and focus on social impact. Lastly, the applicants have strong numerical and analytical skills in finance or accounting.

The registration is open from March 25 to May 10, 2024. For graduates who are interested in joining the program, they can send complete documents (curriculum vitae, cover letter, and transcript) through Grab Careers. Grab will assess the eligibility of the attached documents and selected participants will be invited to attend an interview session. Furthermore, successful applicants will be announced through Grab Careers.

Grab’s Talent Acquisition, Nadia Sudaryomo, said that there are six qualities that they are looking for from the candidates, which are good communication, growth mindset, problem-solving skills, quick adaptation to the work environment, enterprising and aggressive, and ethical. “Grab also mandates the 4Hs that need to be adhered to, namely hunger (curiosity), heart, humanity, and honor,” he said.

In addition to the CFO Graduate Program, Grab is also currently opening Grab OVO Internship Program and Grab OVO Campus Apprenticeship Program for UI students. Nadia believes UI students are the right candidates to participate in programs initiated by Grab.
