Universitas Indonesia (UI) together with the University of Pécs, Hungary held an Info-Session activity at the Vocational Education Program Auditorium, UI Depok Campus, on Monday (30/10). This activity aimed to provide information regarding student exchanges to Hungary, especially the University of Pécs, both through the Indonesian International Mobility Awards for Vocational Students (IISMAVO) program and the study abroad program. This event was also a form of effort to strengthen the cooperative relationship between UI and the University of Pécs.
In his opening remarks, UI Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. rer. Nat. Abdul Haris said that this info session activity could be a source of information for students who are interested in participating in student exchange activities. He also said that this was one of UI’s efforts to help its students continue to develop their academic potential and become representatives of Indonesia on a global scale.
Meanwhile, Vecsánin Boglárka as Study Abroad and Summer School Program Coordinator at University of Pécs explained, for Indonesian students, University of Pécs has three programs including IISMA Undergraduate, IISMA Vocational, and Study Abroad. For IISMA Undergraduate, there are around 17 study programs offered, and for IISMA Vocational there are two study programs, namely the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences within one semester.
Meanwhile, for students who do not pass the IISMAVO selection or may be interested in studying longer at the University of Pécs, they also offer Study Abroad in the form of a fall program (September-January) and a spring program (February-June). There are several facilities that can support students’ lives while studying at the University of Pécs, such as housing, psychological counseling, services for students with special needs, and so on.
He added, in participating in this student exchange, the University of Pécs also has the main qualifications, namely still being registered as a student at the respective university college and having a minimum knowledge of English at B2 level. Apart from that, the University of Pécs also offers an internship program at their service office in the field of social media management and this program can later be transferred into semester credit.
The University of Pécs is one of the oldest universities in Hungary, having been founded in 1367. Currently, the University of Pécs has approximately 20,000 students, 2,000 teachers, with 10 faculties and schools. These faculties and schools include the Faculty of Business and Economics, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Education and Regional Development, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Law, Medical School, Faculty of Music and Visual Arts, Faculty of Pharmacy, and Faculty of Science.
