Universitas Indonesia (UI) received a visit from SMA Kolese Gonzaga at the Convention Hall, UI Depok Campus, on October 1, to gain an understanding of the new student admission selection process, list of study programs, tuition fees, and scholarship information. The visit was guided by the UI Public Relations and KIP Bureau, which began with an explanation of the university’s history, facilities and infrastructure, student admission selection, student activity units, and scholarship programs available at UI.
The principal of SMA Kolese Gonzaga, R.P. Eduard Calistus Ratu Dopo S.J., said, “We want to provide valuable experience to students so that they can explore relevant interests and talents and make decisions in the future.” During the visit, which was attended by more than 250 students, they appeared enthusiastic in the question and answer session regarding the selection process and how to be accepted into their dream faculty.
This visit is part of SMA Kolese Gonzaga’s efforts to provide a broader perspective to its students regarding higher education options. It is hoped that with clear and direct information from the university, students can be better prepared to face the challenges of college entrance selection. In addition, this tour is an effort by UI to socialize higher education institutions to high school students.
This activity ended with a tour around the campus to several faculties, the UI Library and the Health Sciences Cluster Building. This visit is expected to broaden insight into campus life and help students in determining study programs. Through this activity, UI is present to establish good cooperation with schools throughout Indonesia and encourage more outstanding students to continue their studies to a higher level.
