UI Launches Podomoro Golf View Marketing Lounge in Library Building

Universitas Indonesia > News > UI Launches Podomoro Golf View Marketing Lounge in Library Building

Universitas Indonesia (UI) and Agung Podomoro Land are committed to providing affordable and educational solutions, to instill an understanding that property is a primary need that must be prepared early on. This step is taken to ensure that the community – especially the younger generation – has the awareness and ability to plan property ownership carefully and responsibly.

At the end of 2023, Kompas reported based on data from the Ministry of PUPR in 2019 that 81 million millennials in Indonesia do not yet own a private home. The existence of such facts is one of the challenges in meeting property needs, especially among Gen Z and Millennials.

UI collaborated with Agung Podomoro Land through the opening of Podomoro Golf View (PGV) Marketing Lounge at the Library Building, UI Depok Campus. UI Vice Rector for Human Resources and Assets, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA, said the presence of the PGV Marketing Lounge in the UI library area is a meaningful strategic step, not only for students and lecturers, but as a development of academic and industrial collaboration.

“This marketing lounge is expected to be a center of productive activities, a place where UI academicians can explore various ideas and innovations in the field of marketing and the property industry,” Prof. Dedi said. He further said that with the facility, students can engage in real projects, conduct research, and participate in internship programs designed to hone practical skills.

The experience is expected to provide a deep insight into the workings of the property industry, the challenges and opportunities that exist within it. As a result, graduates will have theoretical knowledge and practical abilities that can be applied directly in the world of work.

The program can also build a network between students and the industry that can open career opportunities, provide guidance, and be a source of inspiration for students. Thus, the cooperation between the two parties serves as a bridge that connects the academic world with the professional world.

In addition, it also helps ensure that the graduates produced are work-ready, ready to contribute significantly to the property industry and national development. According to Prof. Dedi at the opening of the Marketing Lounge at the Library Building, UI Depok Campus, Monday (3/6), “Efforts to instill awareness of the importance of property preparation early on and provide direct experience in the field will hopefully make the next generation more prepared and resilient in facing various challenges that exist in the future.”

Deputy President Director of Agung Podomoro Land, Noer Indradjaja, said that the cooperation is a concrete step to get closer and provide the best service to the community. Additionally, to strengthen relationships in education and open up new opportunities to continue to innovate and make a positive contribution to the development of the environment and society. This collaboration is designed to prepare graduates to face the challenges of the world of work with relevant competencies and skills, as well as allowing students to understand the dynamics of the industry firsthand.
