The process of the Universitas Indonesia (UI) Rector Selection for the 2024-2029 period will begin. Therefore, the Board of Trustees (MWA) of Universitas Indonesia (UI) through the Special Committee for Rector Election (Pansus Pilrek) will form a Committee for Screening and Selection of UI Rector Candidates (P3CR UI) for the 2024-2029 period.
Chairman of the Special Committee Prof. Dr. Bambang Wibawarta, M.A. said that UI is ready to choose a rector who is able to realize the vision and mission of UI to become an independent university while excelling in the global arena. “One of the stages in this process is the formation of the ad hoc P3CR UI team which will consist of 13 cross-sector figures, both from the UI academic community and the wider community, representing elements of lecturers, students, the community and education staff,” said Prof. Bambang Wibawarta.
He added that the 13 people will consist of seven representatives of permanent lecturers with a minimum functional position of lector, two representatives of undergraduate and postgraduate students, two representatives of permanent education personnel, two community elements who are UI alumni and community representatives who have expertise and experience in recruiting leaders of an organization.
“P3CR members must have competence and understand university management in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which includes higher education management, governance, human resource management, financial management, entrepreneurship, and so on,” said Prof. Bambang Wibawarta.
Registration for P3CR member candidates will take place from May 27, 2024 to June 5, 2024. Furthermore, the P3CR selection by the Pilrek Special Committee will be held on June 6-16, 2024 and the determination of P3CR members by the Board of Trustees will be held on June 21, 2024.
On June 24, 2024, there will be an Inaugural Meeting of P3CR with the Pilrek Special Committee together with the Chairman of MWA UI Dr. (HC) KH Yahya Cholil Staquf or familiarly called Gus Yahya.
