Regarding this ranking, previously, QS established six indicators in the assessment which included Academic Reputation, Citations per Faculty, Employer Reputation, Faculty Student Ratio, International Faculty, and International Students. This year, QS made the most significant methodological improvements since 20 years ago by adding three new indicators, namely Employment Outcomes, International Research Network, and Sustainability, so that a total of 9 indicators are used as a reference for ranking.

QS is privileged to be the connecting point in the higher education sector—connected to millions of students, hundreds of thousands of academics and employers, and thousands of institutions around the world.

“We’ve seen the focus of these different stakeholders shift in response to broader trends in education and society. To reflect collective intelligence in QS performance insights, we have included three new indicators in the QS World University Rankings,” said Jessica.

Of the nine indicators, UI received the highest score on the International Faculty and Employer Reputation indicators. Meanwhile, for the Employer Reputation and Employment Outcomes indicators, UI is ranked 1st out of all universities in Indonesia that are included in the 2024 QS World University Rankings.

Head of UI’s Transformation, Risk Management and Evaluation Monitoring (TREM) Bureau, Vishnu Juwono, said, “UI’s achievements in QS WUR 2024 reflect UI’s commitment to continuously improving the quality of teaching, research, and community service so that UI’s rankings experience an increasing trend since 2020.” In addition, Vishnu said that UI’s current ranking is the highest in QS WUR for the last 10 years.
