Universitas Indonesia (UI) received one unit of DFSK Super Cab 1.5L from PT Sokonindo Automobile to support campus operations, on Tuesday, August 6. This grant was given symbolically by the CEO of PT Sokonindo Automobile, Dr. Ir. Alexander Barus, MA, MBA., to the Vice Rector for Human Resources and Assets, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA., at Meeting Room A, 2nd Floor, Central Administration Building, UI Depok Campus.
“We give thanks, Alhamdulillah, we are all able to attend this handover activity of a vehicle from PT Sokonindo Automobile to UI this afternoon. In the future, this vehicle will be used by the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of UI Dormitory. Of course, this is a happy thing and we highly appreciate PT Sokonindo Automobile for the vehicle grant to support the smooth operation of UPT Dormitory,” said Prof. Dedi.
He added that this handover is a manifestation of UI’s commitment to continue to encourage the active role of industry in increasing the quality of higher education. Not only Tri Dharma support, but also facility support.
Meanwhile, the Head of UPT UI Dormitory, Abdi Kurnia D, S.H., M.H., said that this vehicle will be used to make all activities in the dorm easier, especially related to the transportation of goods. At the moment, there are 1,700 UI Dormitory residents. They are UI students from outside of Jabodetabek (Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi), consisting of 640 new students and 1,060 old students.
“The residents of the dormitory will gladly welcome this new vehicle because it makes it easier for them to develop their creativity and aspirations in the dormitory. Hopefully, with this assistance, the performance of the dormitory can also continue to improve,” said Abdi.
The presence of the DFSK Super Cab known for its durability, versatility, and fuel efficiency can support many campus activities, including logistics and mobility of the students. Dr. Alexander conveyed that PT Sokonindo Automobile believes that this contribution will have a positive impact on daily campus operations.
“We are proud to partner up with Universitas Indonesia, an institution with a positive reputation and prestige. We hope that this donation can benefit all UI civitas,” said Dr. Alexander. He also hoped that this handover would become the start of future partnerships.
Furthermore, he explained that the 1,500 cc petrol engine delivers reliable performance in urban areas, is fuel efficient, and is able to reach 13.59 km/liter, based on BPPT tests. This reliable and strong power is also supported by a rear bed measuring 2.310 mm x 1.670 mm x 340 mm (LxWxH) and has a carrying capacity of up to 1,399 Kilograms.
The handover was also witnessed by the leaders of UI, including the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (MWA) for the 2019-2023 period, Dr. Saleh Husin, S.E., M.Sc.; and the Director of Facility Operations and Maintenance, Dr. Dwi Marta Nurjaya, S.T., M.T. Meanwhile, representatives from PT Sokonindo Automobile, also present were COO of PT Sokonindo Automobile, Mr. Franz Wang, and Director of Sales Center of PT Sokonindo Automobile, Cing Hok.
