Two students of the Financial Administration and Banking Study Program of the Vocational Education Program of University of Indonesia (UI) brought home two wins from a national competition event, the UKI Banking Competition 2024. They are Wisnu Hardianto, winner of the general content creator category, and Karin Viola br Sembiring, runner-up of the customer service category.
The Banking Competition 2024 provides opportunities for students to study, innovate, and increase skills in overcoming digitization challenges in the banking and finance industry. Some categories in the competition include general content creator and local language, singing, high school/vocational and higher education essay, Mobile Legends, high school/vocational and higher education quiz contest, customer service, teller, and grooming. All winners of each category were announced on Monday, June 3.
According to Karin, in the contest she joined, she did roleplay as a customer service at a bank. “In that opportunity, I was assigned to cater to customers interested in opening accounts, complaints, closing accounts, and other customer service duties. I deepened my understanding of the duties of customer service based on my knowledge from the Customer Service Practice course. Not only learning the duties and functions of customer service, students also practice dressing up as a professional customer service,” said Karin.
Meanwhile, Wisnu, who is the winner of the general content creator category, recounted how the video concept he brought was “Literasi Edukasi Pentingnya Menjaga Reputasi Keuangan.” This content was based on his knowledge and experiences from the Introduction to Economics course in class.
“The content is an invitation to the public to manage and maintain their financial reputation by recording every expense, avoiding debt, making a budget plan and sticking to it, and investing for the future. I hope that the content I made could inspire more people, especially regarding good personal financial management,” said Wisnu. Apart from studying economics, Wisnu also enjoys and has achieved success in the fields of photography and videography since high school.
The Director of UI Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D, appreciated the students’ accomplishments. According to him, Implementation of learning in the classroom can be done through participation in competitions.
“The competition that Karin and Wisnu participated in will directly impact the community, both through customer service which is one of the competencies that will be applied by Financial Administration and Banking students when they graduate, as well as video content that has a message that has a positive impact on the community’s finances. I congratulate Karin and Wisnu on their achievements,” said Padang.
