Universitas Indonesia, one of Indonesia’s leading educational institutions, is seeking a Head of Technology Transfer Division. This role is pivotal in managing the transfer of intellectual property and ensuring the successful commercialization of research outcomes from UI to industry.
Responsibilities:
-Technology Transfer to Industry:
Lead the division’s efforts in transferring intellectual property (IP) and research outcomes from UI to industry, ensuring successful commercialization through licensing, partnerships, and collaborations.
-Identification of Marketable Innovations:
Work closely with researchers and faculty members to identify promising innovations and technologies with potential commercial applications in the industry.
-Industry Collaboration and Partnership Development:
Establish and nurture strategic relationships with industrial partners, including private companies, startups, and industry leaders, to facilitate the adoption and commercialization of UI’s innovations.
-Licensing and Commercialization:
Negotiate and manage licensing agreements, joint ventures, and technology transfer contracts with industrial partners to commercialize UI’s research and innovations.
-Regulatory and Compliance Management:
Ensure that technology transfer activities comply with relevant regulations, including IP laws, research ethics, industry standards, and confidentiality agreements.
-Monitoring and Reporting:
Track and report the progress of technology transfer projects, providing updates to senior management, researchers, and external partners on outcomes, partnerships, and new opportunities.
Requirements:
-A Master’s Degree (or higher) in Technology Management, Intellectual Property Law, Business Administration, or related fields is highly preferred.
-Additional qualifications or certifications in Technology Transfer, Innovation Management, or Intellectual Property are an advantage.
-Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in technology transfer, intellectual property management, or commercialization of research and innovations.
-Experience in working with industries, especially in sectors related to the technologies being developed within UI.
-Proven experience in negotiating and managing licensing agreements, technology commercialization, and partnerships with industrial stakeholders.
