Universitas Indonesia (UI), one of Indonesia’s leading educational institutions, is seeking a Deputy Director of Intellectual Property and Promotion. This role is pivotal in managing and promoting intellectual property and ensuring the successful commercialization of research outcomes from UI to industry.
Responsibilities:
-Overseeing Intellectual Property Management:
Develop and implement strategies for managing intellectual property (IP), including patents, trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs, and trade secrets within UI.
Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to formulate and execute IP strategies that align with UI’s goals and objectives.
-Training and Capacity Building:
Organize internal training and workshops to enhance stakeholders’ knowledge about intellectual property and IP management.
-Monitoring and Reporting:
Monitor and assess IP portfolios, track developments in IP law, and report on the status of promotional and IP initiatives to the director.
-Promotion of DIRBT (Direktorat Inovasi Riset Berdampak Tinggi) UI:
Lead efforts to promote the activities and programs of DIRBT UI both internally and externally through strategic communication, events, and partnerships.
-Brand Awareness and Marketing:
Create and implement marketing campaigns and promotional activities that highlight DIRBT UI’s achievements, IP capabilities, and its role within the community and industry.
-External Relations and Networking:
Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, institutions, and organizations to build collaborative opportunities and enhance the public perception of DIRBT UI.
Requirements:
-Minimum Master’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field such as Intellectual Property Law, Business Administration, or a related discipline would be preferred.
-Additional certifications or specialized training in Intellectual Property management, marketing, or branding would be an advantage.
-Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in managing intellectual property, promoting IP, or working in roles related to innovation, technology transfer, or brand management.
-Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role, preferably within an academic, research, or innovation-driven environment.
